Launched in 2008 with new features added for 2009, the NSW Students Online website is an Australian first and creates a personalised service for every NSW HSC student. The home page is built with ‘pods’ of information that students can move around, add or remove to suit themselves.

Dr John Bennett, the General Manager of the Office of the Board of Studies, said Students Online was a valuable resource for Year 12 students as they prepare for the written HSC exams, which begin on 20 October 2009.

'Students Online provides significant support for students by giving them access to all the Board's HSC resources in one easy location 24 hours, seven days a week,’ said Dr Bennett.

After logging in, each student sees official Board of Studies support material for their own subjects, such as:

  • quick links to the syllabuses and past exam papers that apply to their courses
  • their own HSC exam timetable
  • an interactive 'To Do' pod where they can list upcoming assignments and set their study priorities to High, Medium or Low
  • an Essential Links pod, allowing students to add any of their favourite websites to the important pre-loaded study sites
  • latest HSC news such as the change from a UAI to an ATAR, with email news alerts available
  • answers to many Frequently Asked Questions about the HSC, with many more to be added as the exams draw closer
  • access to individual Assessment Rank Order Notices when they are available in November

Launched in June 2009 was a new HSC syllabus page, making HSC syllabuses and related assessment advice easier to read and easier to find. All the key documents relating to HSC syllabuses and assessments are now linked from one simple landing page and organised by subject areas as well as quick alphabetical indexes.

Students log onto NSW Students Online using their HSC student ID and pin.
