This is a shortened clip from a 5 minute DVD produced to help promote the school. The entire clip was created using an iMac. Most of the footage and photography was taken by the Year 6 Media team. The music was produced in-house. This is a taste of the dynamic range of activities Holy Spirit offers.

Our celebration of Catholic Schools Week involved 'Rug Reading'. Sitting on rugs around the school, students took turns in reading stories they had written, edited and published to others. Some readers dressed as characters from their stories and good listening was rewarded with prizes. Many families joined us on the day to enjoy the stories.

This is the second part of the DVD a group of children from St John's Auburn have been working on. This video was put together by a group of children from years 3-6. These children took part of this workshop which was part of the Term 1 gifted and talented program. The children conducted their own research on the history of St John's. They gathered and sourced their own information and photos. These children then planned out the scence and scripts for this video. What I have uploaded is the first part. The video eventually leads into pictures which show how St John's has changed over the years. The video outlines the different variety of different activities which are annually held at St John's. Throughout this project the children have developed a variety of different skills including both workng as a team and using Technology.

During April, over 300 Catholic primary students from the Peninsula Community of Schools in the Diocese of Broken Bay participated in two Primary-Secondary Links day events at St Paul’s Catholic College Manly and Mater Maria Catholic College, Warriewood. The Links program enables Year 3 students from the 12 Peninsula Parish primary schools to participate in a range of engaging educational activities in a high school environment. The students enjoyed activities prepared by the St Paul’s and Mater Maria staff in the areas of science, music, drama and physical education. At Mater Maria, the Physical Education activity was led by Year 10 students as part of their Physical Activities and Exercise Studies course. A magical display of experiments, musical enrichment and educational theatre about why bullying is never acceptable were performed by Mater Maria Year 11 Drama students in their Anti-Bullying play. It is a worthwhile day for the Year 3 students in the Peninsula Community of Catholic Schools and an opportunity to highlight the K-12 learning continuum in our Diocese of Broken Bay.
